I enjoy your weekly updates very much, but unfortunately find them less and less funny. Not due to any fault of yours. It’s just that it is harder and harder to laugh at any of this. Kinda like fiddling while Rome burns. The oil spill wasn’t Obama’s fault, but his neglect of immediate, agressive action was criminal. Elena Kagan is too radical and inexperienced, just like the President, for the job, and will prove to be as big a mistake as he is. And as for the crack about the radio talk commentators, they are our only source of truth now, and if they sound angry, so are we.

I believe the mumble-mouthed choir is singing poorly pronounced Latin. Like most choirs do to Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms.

If you listen carefully to Uncle Jay’s choir clips and know Latin, you can hear enough to understand it. They’re singing, “Praise be to Jay; Uncle Jay we say; Hail to thee Jay” and so on.

Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice states:
“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.” In other words, the General’s words can (and shoud have) gotten him court martialed. As a military retiree, it’s my guess he wanted to be fired. Feel free to speculate why.

Children should read more and not spend the summer with the video games! My daughter has already read 3 books and just took out 3 more from the library.
