Oh. Movies. I get it, I guess. (Kind of, well, lame for those of us who try to ignore “celebrities”. I tuned out at 2:45. Just. Don’t. Care. See ya next week.

  2. Motherlarkin Says:

Uncle Jay, I’ve been up and down all night with my stomach! I think Congress must have the same problem. Thank for all you work on this one, it was GREAT!

  3. Jeanie M. Says:

Complete agreement with Kell is made! Just. Don’t. Care. We watched a repeat of another show and ‘channel hopped’ back to the awards three or four times. Each time was more lame than the last. Thanks, Uncle Jay. ‘Up or Down’ was a much better choice than ‘Oscar’!

Jay, you’re the BEST ! You should have won atleast something at the Oscars…or at least had an honorable mention in Congress ! On that note, (no Grammy pun intended) the Oscar Academy voters were finally showing signs of political correctness…if only Congress would take note of that (sorry again) !!!

  6. Robert Brover Says:

    Uncle Jay,
When you presented, we bet that you would do something with “On the Red Carpet.” The pre-show hype started a week ago, and it looks like you will have another chance in next week’s offering. Stay on the roll.

  7. J Henry Says:

I totally ignored the Hollywood mutual admiration society festival, I still don’t know what or who won what and I don’t care. I watched a hockey game instead. At least the hockey games aren’t usually “fixed.” Down with Hollywood, Down with congress and UP with the stock market!

  8. Sara Pitbull Says:

Was that the Oscars?! I thought Avatar was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Hey uncle Jay,
I am a new Jay bird, so to speak. A friend of mine turned me on to your web site. I look forward to Mondays now to visit your website. Keep up the good work. To bad they don’t have any awards for best web sites.

  10. Ol James Says:

I wonder why the obama administration wasn’t nominated for- Best Picture and BIGGEST Box office crash?? GREAT Job, as is normal with you Uncle Jay!!!!

  11. Carole Says:

Uncle Jay, I really have a hard time believing that you are trying to reach children with your news interpretation. Some of your references, only the adults will. You are fabulous and very right on!

  12. Cheesed Off 17 Says:

Wow, seems i’m not the only person in the world who ignores celebs and Oscars! Nevertheless, Uncle J. I enjoyed this week as I do most weeks even though, as a non American, I don’t always understand so probable miss a lot of laughs.

Uncle Jay – thank you for putting a smile on my face each week. Loved your Beauty & The Beast clip and Meg Ryan’s yes…yes reference. :-)

  17. Zach Says:

I live in Canada and universal health care has worked fine hear. The horror stories of the right are simply not true. Besides, its not as if congress will have to vote every time you need health care, so unless you’re ultra rich government service can be as efficient as private service.

  19. Sheik Yerbouti Says:

Zach: anecdotal evidence is a funny thing. I have friends in Canada who *do* tell horror stories.

Besides, “government” and “efficient” have never gone together as long as I can recall. Before the feds over-regulated here, hospitals actually spent more on care than on government compliance! What kind of a world would that be?

  20. Sheik Yerbouti Says:

Also, UJ, great integration of lines from classic (and “classic”) movies. That must have taken some work, and it was well worth it.
