Liberal. Conservative. These have to be the two most annoying words in the news. Some people deny that they’re liberal when they are, but some people brag that they’re conservative when they’re not! Weird, huh? What do these words mean? But more importantly, why are words in the news so hard to spell? Uncle Jay explains the left and right of it.

Uncle Jay: I think I saw a typo on your sample ballot. Isn’t Mr. Nader’s first name “Ralph”? Not “Ron” as it appears on your ballot. I’d be too scared to sleep at night if Ralph had some brother or relative even crazier than he is, running for President. Phil

The fact that you’ve p—– off a Conservative means you hit the nail right on the head. Guess you mis-characterized the Liberals because none of ‘em have wrote in mad yet!
Keep up the good work Uncle Jay!!! I love your fresh independent view.

What?! My TV is turning off?! Do you know something I don’t?! How am I supposed to watch Two and a Half Men?! And my other stories?!
Is there some way I can avoid this catastrophe?

You mean the operation of my TV set is in jeopardy? How will I watch FOX news and MSN and all those talking heads that interpret the news, world affairs, politics and the environment for me? What will I do? You mean I will have to learn how to think for myself? You mean I have to learn critical thinking skills? Who will teach me? I guess we will all have to go to Uncle Jay’s website to be rehabilitated? I think that he can finally teach us some critical thinking skills! I would like to vote for Uncle Jay for President!

Can I still vote for Pat Paulson?
Just because he’s dead,.. so what?
Goldie Hawn would be a great running mate, eh?

Love how you pillory both liberals and conservatives, but you forgot the other two continents on the political map, the libertarians and authoritarians who are also at opposite poles. Check http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html for the complete map. Please do them in one of your lessons.

You are obvisously a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT Jay, and your mind is therefore rotten to the core. The only GOD you serve is yourself, and therefore Satan. I won’t be looking in again to read your foolishness.

I say now, we’ve got to get somthin’ straight, here ! We’ve got to get this right. Pay attention when I’m talkin’ to ya’, boy. Now, I say, you have your democrat and your liberal democrat. A Democrat can stand before you with his hand in your pocket, look you straight in the eye and tell you he does NOT have his hand in your pocket. Now, your LIBERAL democrat will actually believe him. ‘Scuse me now, ’cause I have to go irritate a chicken hawk.

I’m a conservative but he is absolutely correct of those in government I’m not mad at all those conservatives that are have never either heard the truth or deny it amd I’m sick of both parties or should I say they are one against us the American People who were selfish or yes stupid to think for ourselves they have accomplished what they wanted to pit us against one another we can’t let them win. They work for us so I say throw the all the bums out.

There’s only one thing I disagree with on Uncle Jay’s commentary- it being a bad idea to vote “no” for president. Frankly, I would like to be able to vote “None of the Above” for president so the Republocrats can actually get some GOOD candidates that we can choose from, rather than the utter mediocrity we have had for,… how long? An awful long time! (I guess, though, if Obama or McCain is what the people of this country wanted, then that is what we deserved) Other than that, I thought this was a good commentary! Keep up the good work, Uncle Jay!

Uncle Jay,
I do not agree with your definition of Liberal and Conservative. I think you would have done it better by saying Liberals are for more government and more Govt. = More Taxes & Less Freedom
Conservatives are for less government & Less Govt.= Less Taxes & More Freedom.
