Isn’t it a shame that I live on the outskirts of Houston, TX (in Clear Lake – home of Johnson Space Center – yippee) and had to read your e-mail to learn of the domain explosion in Houston? Hum, I also didn’t realize Congress adjourned and our men and women in Iraq might not be paid for a while because of it until a mother of a soldier called to ask me to call my Representative and ask him to wrap up his vacation and go back to work. I do read the paper Uncle Jay, so why do I have to count on you to keep me informed??? Makes me wonder what else I don’t know!
Thank you for keeping all the boys and girls informed. Without you we’d all be ostriches with our heads in the sand.

A friend of mine sent me this particular episode and I loved it. Susan is right, what else doesn’t the regular news report? I went to the website and Uncle Jay YOU ARE GREAT.
Thanks and keep up the great work.

Dear Uncle Jay,
Heard on talk radio this A.M.,Jan. 2,09, the government plans to raise gas tax ten cents on gasoline, fifteen cents on diesel because not enough people are buying fuel and more revenue is needed for road repairs. If people are using the roads less often then they shouldn’t need repaired.

I dunno, seems to me that, given what they do to us when they’re in session, we should encourage them to take MORE time off.

Bryan is right. Maybe letting them meet twice a month would be good?

THis is classic- Thanks for sharing. Remember also , “con gress” is the opposite of “pro gress” .
With the benifits and such they get — I want that dead end job too.
